Since the adoption of the amendement to Slovak Citizenship Act in 2022, the Slovak authorities granted 457 citizenships by descent in the period of April 2022 to June 2025.
The pace of new Slovak citizenship grants has increased from 33 grants per month in 2024 to 48 grants per month in 2025. Zip-Citizenship is proud to have helped many of these new Slovak citizens to achieve their dreams.
Among the countries, the United States and Isreal clearly lead, followed by Czech republic and Canada. These numbers are not suprising given that these countries have strong historical links to Slovakia, and many of them were or remain places of emigration.
Slovak authorities are also increasingly receiving new requests for Slovak Living Abroad Certificates. In the period of April 2022 and June 2025, Slovak authorities granted 1,085 SLACs. SLAC is traditionally very popular amonth the Serbian disapora (89%), and Ukrainian communities (12%).
