Over the years, we have built Krtko, our proprietary genealogical search engine, bringing together more than 1.5 million historical records relating to Slovak emigration. From passenger manifests and census records to naturalisation documents, Krtko helps our researchers find connections that might otherwise remain hidden.
Building this resource has required years of work and substantial investment in archival research, digitisation, transcription, and data processing. It is one of the unique advantages we bring to our clients, helping them locate ancestral documents, establish their Slovak heritage, and reconnect with their family history.
We believe in making history more accessible. That is why we offer the public free access to a selection of Krtko’s search capabilities. However, given the considerable resources invested in developing and maintaining the database, its full functionality and underlying data remain reserved for ZIP’s research team and client services.
