Translation

For every application to the Slovak authorities, every non-Slovak document (e.g., birth or marriage certificates, or ship records) must be accompanied by their certified translation into Slovak.

Important principles to keep in mind:

  1. Foreign documents must be apostilled first, and then translated
  2. A translator always needs a physical copy of the document, as the document must be bound by a special seal
  3. Translation can be carried out only by certified translators (check the registry of the Ministry here)

If you are our client for citizenship services, we can arrange these translations for you at very good prices. You will be asked to mail us the documents along with their scans (to speed up the translation), and we will mail you the certified translations into Slovak. Once your physical documents arrive, our translator checks them, attaches the translated text, certifies it, and mails it back to you.

The speed is basically limited only by the physical delivery times. So if you are in a rush and pay for faster delivery, you can have your translations ready within several days (e.g., with FedEx International Priority, 3 business days for the USA to Slovakia, and another 3 for the return).
